Marine Chains

Anchor chains are crucial mooring equipment for ships, and their grades are mainly classified based on their strength. The common grades include AM1(U1), AM2(U2), and AM3(U3).

AM1 (U1)Anchor Chain
This is a relatively fundamental grade, capable of meeting the requirements of general small ships or being used in relatively favorable mooring environments.
Commonly fabricated using ordinary steel, the requirements for heat treatment and other processes during manufacturing are relatively less strict. The diameter of the produced anchor chain and the size of the chain links are relatively small.

AM2(U2) Anchor Chain
The strength is moderate and it can withstand the tensile force under medium wind and current conditions, ensuring the safe mooring of ships in normal marine environments.High-quality steel is adopted to enhance the strength and toughness of the steel. During the manufacturing process, the forging, welding, and heat treatment of the chain links are precisely controlled to guarantee that the quality of the anchor chain meets the corresponding standards.

AM3(U3) Anchor Chain
High-strength anchor chain grade ,employed for ships that need to moor in harsh sea conditions, such as large oil tankers, container ships, and oceanographic research vessels. High-strength alloy steel is used, which has extremely high yield strength and tensile strength.
